Located
only 6 kilometers from Albufeira, Olhos d'Água is a small
and typical fishing village, and from the 18th century on was
used as a lookout point for the defense of the fort at Albufeira.
Olhos d'Água (Eyes of Water) takes its name from the
numerous fresh-water springs that bubble up both on the beach
and off-shore underwater.
The tourist boom that began in the 1970s has completely changed
the structure of the local economy, and it is now one of the
most developed tourism areas in Albufeira County.
Come and enjoy the hot and quiet waters of the Olhos d´Água
beach.
